| New Newsletter Format I have updated the newsletter to embed all the images into the email, so allow it to more easily get by people's spam filters. Please let me know if you suddenly stopped receiving the newsletter, or it isn't working in some way. If you could also let me know what email client and os you use, that would be great! Peter p.s. if you add content@stmgrts.org.uk to your address book, that will also make sure it gets past most spam filters. | Peter 2011-10-14 17:12 reply |
| Latest Forum Posts Now on the Homepage After being asking this for about two years, I finally did the work to get the last five forum posts on the homepage. Hopefully this will drive a bit more traffic. What else would you like to see? I have been asked most about adding: - email replies
- ability to remove a sold classified
Any other suggestions - reply to this post? | Peter 2011-04-15 10:04 reply |
| Re: Latest Forum Posts Now on the Homepage Is it possible to add the function 'watch this thread' so that you are alerted by email to activity on a forum post? | Maddie 2011-04-17 09:54 reply |
| Spammers/Hackers Not sure anyone has noticed, but there were a few spam messages on these forums over the past few days. Some spammer got in and posted a few comments... really just links to other sites. I think I have closed a few more loopholes, but if you ever see anything, please email me at content@stmgrts.org.uk. Thanks! Peter | Peter 2010-11-14 09:18 reply |
| Possible improvements to "Classifieds" forum Peter, It would be useful perhaps if the following was possible on the Classifieds forum: 1) Ability to delete one's own classified after it has served its purpose (the "found mobile phone" thread I recently ran is now irrelevant, for example). 2) Possible enhancement to (1), the ability to set an option expiry date at the outset after which the ad would delete itself automatically 3) Maybe display of the number of "views" an advert has had ! | Comment on forums I've put on a new post, following up a post I put on several months ago. I posted my post as a 'reply' because I wanted to link it to the previous post (and responses I've had to that). But this means that it appears way down the page - you have to scroll a while to get there. I doubt anyone will see it. In most forums, a reply to a subject moves it to the top of the page. I think it would be a good idea if you did that. Thanks Tom | Tom 2009-04-16 13:38 reply |
| Re: Comment on forums Tom, I agree with you, of course I designed the database wrong to do this easily, so it will take some work to change... but I am working on it. Peter from stmgrts.org.uk | Peter 2009-04-25 08:09 reply |
| Re: Comment on forums Tom, I think I got it... can you let me know if it looks right for you? | Peter 2009-04-27 19:42 reply |
| Conservatory Companies Does anybody have any expereince of companies that build conservatories in the area. I have looked at Cornhill and Anglian but both seem to have attracted negative reports. Thanks | martwills 2008-08-04 11:09 reply |
| Spam We seem to be attracting a lot of spam in these forums... I apologise until I find a way to protect the forums better. | Peter 2008-06-05 22:19 reply |
| Offensive material Please remove the offensive material from the CPZ forum page. | Joanne Hanrahan 2008-05-10 10:40 reply |
| Re: Offensive material I am trying to keep up with it... but the spammers have found it out obviously. | Peter 2008-05-14 13:06 reply |
| Server move We moved servers about two weeks ago. Apparently the forums have been down all that time, sorry for that. Please email me at content@stmgrts.org.uk if you see any more problems. Peter | Peter 2008-01-16 10:02 reply |
| Friendly Neighbours (maybe) I thought I lived in a nice area, when I moved to St Margarets over a year ago. Unfortunately on Wednesday night I parked my blue vespa in Beaconsfield road as usual. I returned to my Vespa last night to discover that it had been knocked over and the very nice person who had done this had picked it up. They have damaged the right side and not even bothered to leave any details. I know which car was parked in front of me and I hope is was not you. If anyone saw this accident please get in contact with me thx Ian | Ian 2007-06-22 17:40 reply |
