TwickFolk : -JACK HARRIS and ROBBY HECHT - OLD EVENT
£8adv/£9
Young Welshman Jack Harris is a great favourite at the club after several support spots behind the likes of Eric Taylor, Anais Mitchell, Jeffrey Foucault, Richard Shindell, Tracy Grammer and AJ Roach. Jack was a winner of the 2005 Kerrville Festival Songwriting Competition in Texas and was invited to showcase at the prestigious South By South-West music conference in Austin at the tender age of 17. During this time two mini albums were released which cemented his reputation as one of the best up-and-coming songwriters on the UK scene. He has since returned to Kerrville and to tour the States together with Eric Taylor. Taylor subsequently came over to Wales to produce Jack's first full length CD “Broken Yellow”. Music then took a slight back-seat for three years during which time Jack completed his degree at Oxford University but now he is making plans to record his next album with a fresh batch of songs ready for public consumption.

Robby Hecht's music represents a return to the early 70s golden era of acoustic singer-songwriter music with thoughtful, well-crafted lyrics were blended with timeless melodies. His debut album Late Last Night was released in May of 2008 and features an impressive list of guest performers including Mindy Smith, Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band), Thad Cockrell and Andrea Zonn. Raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Robby first began writing and performing at university, developing and pairing his soulful voice and unique finger-style guitar. After spending time living in Paris and San Francisco he returned to his home state and settled in Nashville. Robby has shared the stage with such legendary artists as Richie Havens, Greg Brown, and Patty Griffin, and garnered comparisons to early James Taylor and Paul Simon. He was offered the rare accolade for an American of a solo slot at Glasgow's Celtic Connection Festival where he went down a storm to the extent that he's been invited back there in 2010.
