The Press from the inside - you couldn't make it up

By Howard Brenton & David Hare

When young journalists Andrew and Rebecca meet, they share a vision for a better, more truthful future. Mapping the rise and rise of newspaper baron Lambert Le Roux, and various newsrooms not a million miles from The News of the World, this cutting satire is about the battle for liberal England's soul.

Who will win the fight?

LAU portrait 704

Three into two goes bad

Overworked young doctors Neal and Rachel endure a stressful and almost sexless romance. Enter Neal's old friend Richie, an unstable and impulsive blast from the past. An arch manipulator, he quickly spots the couple's vulnerabilities, lying, insinuating and betraying confidences until their relationship breaks down.
Blending the aggressive sexuality of Mamet with the warped naturalism of Pinter, Penhall's dark comedy is an under-performed masterpiece of tension and manipulation.
