2x2_Opera

2×2 OPERA was formed by local residents, film and video director Keith Cheetham and Deborah Meyer, an experienced arts administrator and fundraiser, in response to the lack of opportunities for young people to take part in “classical” music projects. It's main aim is to provide an opportunity for local children and young people to participate in a professionally produced, high quality cross-arts education project. The projects also draw on the many professional talents from within the community making the productions unique and special not only to local residents but to the many visitors who attend the performances from outside the borough.

Richmond Orchestra

Richmond_Orchestra

The Richmond Orchestra is an integral part of Richmond’s outstanding mix of amateur music making. It is a genuine amateur orchestra which aims to play the mainstream orchestral repertoire in public to the highest possible standard. The membership of the orchestra is very broad –a lot who are young, a few who are retired, there are designers, nurses, IT specialists, lawyers, managers, and doctors among its members and all are there because they want to play music and are committed enough to rehearse and to practice. They believe passionately that making music should be enriching and fun.

The Richmond Orchestra welcomes enquiries from keen amateur players. We would be particularly interested to hear from any double bass, violin, viola, trombone, other brass or harp players. The orchestra rehearses between 7:30 and 10:00 pm on Wednesday evenings.

Rehearsals on Wednesdays from 7.30 to 10.00pm at East Sheen United Reformed Church.
