1st St.Margarets Scout Group was the first and is still the only group in St.Margarets, founded in 1919.

Currently they have three sections Beavers (6 to 8 year olds), Cubs (8 to 10 1/2 year olds) and Scouts (10 1/2 to 15 year olds).

They are a very activie Group and take part in as many District events as possible. The Cub Pack camps for a week at the end of July each year in a farmers field, with only a water tap and some near by sheep for company, this is known as “green field camping”.

The Scout Troop camp at least 4 times a year, where they normally take part in activities such as archery, rifle shooting, man made pot holing and absailing. Also throughout the year they take part in activities such as paragliding, canoeing, flying in four seater planes, night hikes, incident hikes and go-kart racing.
