Coach House Club for 6 – 9 Year Olds

Fill your holidays with creativity! Visit the gallery exhibitions and work with professional artists specialising in a range of different art-forms from drawing, painting and print-making to sculpture.

Amazing Abstracts: Wednesday 19 February

Become a mosaic master for the day! Explore different kinds of abstract art and work with artist Ursula Kelly to create colourful mosaics inspired by Aboriginal paintings.

Animation Station: Thursday 20 February

Work with artist Lorena Carbajal to discover a multitude of animation techniques. Use colourful paper to create your own puppet and collaborate to make a group animation.

Amazing Abstracts: Wednesday 19 February

Work with Dominique Holt to create amazing plaster sculptures which echo natural forms. Taking inspiration from artists such as Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore, design and build your own sculpture with a nod to nature. Bring along a natural object – it could be anything from a shell to a twig.

Animation Station: Thursday 20 February

Have you ever wondered how stop motion animation works? Discover the tricks of the trade in this one day workshop with illustrator Amy Pennington. Create your own story and make it come alive with props, models and most importantly, yourself!

Drawing and Painting Skills Day for 14-17 year olds

  • 10am – 3pm.

Painting: Monday 17 February

Work with painter Diana Taylor to develop your painting skills in this one day workshop. Draw inspiration from the Rose Dempster Bonnor exhibition and spend a session with a clothed life model to understand the challenges of drawing the body.

Short Workshops

Plaster Casting for 4-5 year olds: Monday 17 February

  • 10am – 12pm or 2pm – 4pm

Work with artist Ashley Howell to experiment with mark making then capture the results in a plaster cast to take home.

Printed Portraits for 4-7 and 7-10 year olds: Tuesday 18 February

  • 10am – 12pm (4-7 years), 2pm – 4pm (7-10 years)

Work with artist Mary Herbert to transform sketch to print with the magical technique of drypoint. Explore the portraits in the current exhibition and create your own!
